We began our investigation by walking along the bluffs on the beach. This required some dexterity as the beach is filled with rocks. We had to walk along these piles of large boulders at first, it was really quite dangerous. However, danger comes with the territory in our unrelenting search for the truth. Actually, that may be an exaggeration, more likely it was a matter that there was no way I was going back the way we had come. The reason we wanted to explore the buffs first was the allegations that you can find camoflauged doors in the sides of them at some point. This at first seemed to be the logical choice for the start of our investigation. Yet, as with my first impressions, I learned once again that it is fine to mull ideas in your mind, and quite another to practice them in reality. There were millions of rocks, everywhere. It was like trying to climb a hill with milk cartons tied to our feet. |

I lost about 3 gallons of water in the form of sweat that day. The sun was high and the temperature was quite hot, and after a couple of miles struggling along the beach we decided to explore other parts of the base. However, our intention is to go back and finish he exploration, because even if we dont find the doors there certainly were some very interesting features to be found there. However, we will wait or the winter because the beach is infested with these meat eating flies. There little bites are quite painful and they seem determined to eat as much of you as they can. Another feature o the shore is there were some small areas where there was sand. But it is not sand that I am used to. It is like a fine silt, like trying to walk in mud. |

This was a particularly interesting area. As you can see from the picture there appear to be what I assume are natural features that perhaps could be mistaken for doors. But there were some other aspects of this area that were strange in themself. We found some structures that will be shown on the next page but also there were a few piles of stones, one on top of another. By itself it would mean nothing, even though it was obvious they were piled like that on purpose. However, when taken in with other things being "marked" in this way, it seems strange. Mind you, these stones were not markers, as I learned in the boy scouts, and the fact is it was probably nothing, someone was probably sitting there bored and was piling stones. But when taken with everything we found at the base, it almost takes on an air of something sinister. It is hard to describe, it was a feeling the whole area had. As I said, the meat eating flies ( I dont know what else to call them, I remember calling them horse flies as a youngster) were attacking us like mad, and we could not do a thorough investigation of the area. That is why I am going to wait for winter to go and see more for myself. |
