It ain't just rain!
History has many stories of strange objects falling from the sky. Some of the most common are stories of fish falling from the heavens, and most likely these stories can be explained by whirlwinds or tornadoes. However, not all things that fall from the sky are so easily and logically explained. These are just a few examples of the more odd types of objects that sometimes come raining down on our heads. I have a friend who once asked me a seemingly simple question. He told me that as he walked around it ocurred to him to wonder "Why are all of these rocks on top of the ground?" Seeing a rock on top of the soil is so common place, one does not even consider the question of how it got there. After all, mountains crumble, water will flood etc.. Yet, these actions alone cannot explain this seemingly innocent fact. After all, when a paleontologist looks for fossils, or an archeologist looks for lost cities, they find them by digging. The reason is that as wind blows, dust is picked up and redeposited. Material is constantly falling into our atmosphere from outer space. So over the eons, what was once ground level becomes underground level. But for the most part, while fine grains of soil may be carried on the wind, rocks for the most part are not. But as we will come to see, rocks do fall from the sky (I am not speaking of meteors) and have been recorded as doing so for thousands of years. Perhaps one day I will include some theories on why things such as rocks and flesh fall from the sky, but for now I will just present a history of the mystery.

And then there is material that falls from the sky, that defies explanation...

Star Jelly Falls
Falls of human and animal flesh
